Ah, sunny and lovable summer, we immediately conjure up images of margaritas, pina coladas by the beach, and of course, the opportunity to catch up with old friends. What a better way to do that, then during a wedding? – a summer wedding that is. Summer weddings are definitely a fun and pleasant addition to your summer plans, let’s begin by saying the weather is just beyond wonderful, and as a bonus this means you can have a little more freedom when it comes to the decor, food, drinks, and even the cake…

Think bold colors, fun signature cocktails, and vibrant colors.

The Venue

Let’s start with the wedding venue… Depending on where you are getting married remember to always check the weather… for example South Florida summers are known to be very rainy and hot, really not ideal for the summer; while other places up north, summers are the most popular time to get married. There’s nothing better than a beautiful outdoor wedding with a the weather to match.

Food & Drinks

Who doesn’t like food and drinks?… Especially when it’s hot outside. This is where it gets fun…. Since it’s summer and the temperature in most places are well above 75 degrees, you have to make sure your guests have a nice cool down… and yes, we do mean with the food/appetizers, and drinks.

For the drinks, we say forego the traditional champagne and go with something a little more fun, and dare we say a little unconventional; For example, frozen Prosecco popsicles, margaritas, sangrias, mojitos, and crafted signature cocktails … or a cocktail station, the list goes on and on!

For the appetizers, may we suggest little ice cream sandwiches, or frozen desserts, like sorbets and gelato; and let’s never forget the traditional cold cuts. We can keep going, but we think you have an idea on how to keep cool for the summer (pun intended!)

The Cake

Every couple takes pride in their cake, a lot of thought and effort goes into choosing the perfect wedding cake; but since it’s the summer, you can keep things minimal while having fun with it. Some fun options – an all white cake with pretty vibrant flowers, or a wedding cake with minimal lavender blossoms. The ever classic unfrosted or naked cake with decorative flowers, is always a good choice.

The Decor

As all brides-to-be know, the decor can make or break a wedding, as it sets the mood and vibe of the entire party. That being said, you can have lots of fun with the decor, since it’s summer after all. You can go full on beach vibes, or go full bloom and throw a fun garden wedding, or a nice rustic/barn wedding (and since it’s the summer, it’s perfect theme for the outdoors) and everything in between. This is your opportunity to add vibrant colors to your decor and florals; and a fun bonus – the chances are pretty good that they’ll match those fun signature cocktails you’ll be serving your guests. And let’s not forget the place settings and table-scapes, as we are allowed to take as many liberties to add some fun colors to them. Go for it girl, don’t be shy!
