Frequently Asked Questions

When should I place my order?

We recommend that you begin the order process as early as possible to ensure that your invitations are ready in plenty of time. Traditionally, you will want to mail out your invitations at least 8 weeks prior to your wedding, therefore we suggest ordering your invitations at least 4 months before your wedding date. General invitation timelines are listed below to help you plan when you should place your order based on your wedding month. Please note that custom designs may take longer so you may want to get started even sooner that what is listed here.

How many invitations should I order?

When determining how many invitations you will need to order, be sure to account for households rather than total number of guests.  Additional reprints are costly after your design is approved and printed, so it is best to determine the quantity needed and then add 20% extra for last minute additions and keepsakes before placing your order. Once your order is placed we cannot change the quantity.  Re-orders will be subject to the minimum order quantity of 50 pcs.

Can I see a sample before placing my order?

Yes, you may purchase a sample box before placing your bulk order. This gives you an opportunity to see the colors and quality in person. Samples cannot be personalized with your wording or information, however you are able to request to see certain colors.

What printing techniques do you offer?

We specialize in Foil Printing and Digital Printing. Other print methods such as Letterpress and Thermography are available for our custom clients.

Will I see a proof?

Yes, we will send you digital proofs for your review within 3-5 business days of placing your order. Two complimentary revisions are included.  Each additional revision will incur a $50.00 fee.

It is your responsibility to carefully review the digital proof for accuracy before approving. PAPER & LACE is not responsible for errors in spelling, grammar, and/or mistakes overlooked by the client during the proofing process. We suggest having a friend and/or family member review the proof as well.

Once approval is given, PAPER & LACE waives responsibility for any errors including typesetting, format, grammar, spelling, punctuation or otherwise. If you should choose to reprint after final approval is given, you will be responsible for all costs of production and printing.

How much postage is required to mail invitations?

We suggest taking one completely assembled invitation set to your local post office, where they will weigh it and let you know what postage will cost.

While you're at the post office, ask if they will hand cancel your invitations.  Hand-canceling is the process by which the mailing is processed by hand, avoiding potential damage by bypassing the large processing machines the post office uses. Hand-canceling minimizes the amount of stamping, bar codes, and other marks the post office automatically puts on mailings. The process also ensures your invitations don't get caught, torn, or damaged by the machines.
